Echoes of Africa: Art and Folktales

Let’s celebrate Black History Month with a vibrant program of storytelling, music and cultural traditions led by Kenyan educator and storyteller Elizabeth Kahura. Elizabeth will guide us through Africa’s rich heritage using storytelling, poetry, proverbs, and riddles that inspire values like kindness, patience, and hard work. She will explore traditional folktales, fables, and myths alongside arts and crafts, wood carvings, handmade instruments, clothing, jewelry, and cultural artifacts. This program showcases the history,

Illinois Libraries Present: Still Afraid of the Dark/An Evening with R.L. Stine

The generation that grew up with the “Goosebumps” franchise may be grown, but R.L. Stine keeps finding new ways to keep us afraid of the dark! Join us with “the most prolific author of children’s horror novels,” R.L. Stine, to discuss his illustrious and still-expanding body of work. Known for the “Goosebumps” and “Fear Street” series (and their respective TV and movie adaptations), R.L. Stine has sold over 400 million books worldwide in 35 languages. Register for the R.L.
